The Grand Bahama Power Company recently opened its Exhibit entitled 'Coming Out of the Cover of Darkness, Into the Brilliance of Light' which celebrates the advent of electricity on Grand Bahama Island and the Power Company's contribution to the growth and development of the Island.
 
The Power Company is proud of its participation and accomplishments over the years and continues to strive to provide quality service to its many customers. 
 
The Exhibit is available for the public to view and is also targeted for the students of Grand Bahama Island.  The Power Company is working closely with the Ministry of Education to ensure that as many students as possible will take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the community in which they live.
 
The Exhibit includes well over 200 photographs, newspaper articles dating back to 1961, audio interviews with long time residents of Grand Bahama Island who share their experiences of what life was like 'back in those days', a hurricane section featuring a fast paced documentation of damage and restoration work, milestones of the Power Company, Safety Training, Sub-stations, building of new generating plants, as well as, library with books written about Grand Bahama and some written by Grand Bahamians... all of which  makes this exhibit a 'must see' !
